Yes I haven't deserted my webcomic yet. I've just been working on it on and off for the past summer.
And on that note I actually have a launch date in mind (as I work much much better with deadlines).
My webcomic will (dear god hopefully) be launched on August 22nd. From then it will hopefully be updated every Monday and Friday. It'll be uploaded on both taptastic and a tumblr page that I'm trying to get together, and an "update" can vary from a title card, to a looong comic to a shorter comic. All the artwork will be super-amazing, I promise.
Actually, this stage is most important for me, its sort of like a boot camp/testing course. As I really want to do this webcomic/kind of thing for a living (going to cons and publishing books, getting paid for freelance work, etc.) I want to see if I can keep up with a schedule, on top of me having college and my new adult life to deal with. So from August to December will just be a test to see if I can keep this up. If I somehow am able to miraculously do that then I'll go ahead and finally submit my webcomic pitch to hiveworks (at that time I'll hopefully have some sort of following and a TON of comic examples, along with personal experience so I'll have a better chance of getting contracted).
In case any of you don't know, Hot Chocolate is a slice-of-life/fantasy comic heavily influenced by Calvin and Hobbes, Raina Telgemeier's work and the japanese comic Yotsuba&! Yes, it is based off of that ridiculous ROTG gag strip I made a year ago which you can read
here. While it now revolves around three sisters rather than Jack Frost (however he still has a rather big part in the comic, don't worry), it focuses on themes of growing up and maintaining your youthful innocence, whether its explored through petty crushes or alien takeovers.Yes, there is a future arc with an alien. And its adorable.
ANYWAY due to this I'm probably not going to be as active on deviantart anymore. I was originally going to go on hiatus, actually, but seeing how I can't drag myself away from this place as hard as I try (and boy have I tried) I'm still planning to be on here just...not uploading as much artwork. But I'll still hang out in groups, talk, RP n participate in events, don't worry. I'm actually planning to revamp my page once my webcomic launches so eek watch out~
AHH thank you guys so much for the support! A few years ago making my own webcomic would've seem mind-blowingly impossible but here I am actually doing it.

Once I publish my webcomic I also get to make business cards for myself ack I can be all professional like "Hayley-Freelance Artist" oh man hopefully this will earn me new college friends wow I'm rambling don't mind me bye
